Greetings!
We are pleased to announce that Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R. is getting involved in Penn Central Car Movements again after the completion of extensive signal renovations at his Rock Ridge Yard.
Check out his impressive electrical work and new signals HERE!
The Rail Traffic Management Form that guides our car movements has an unusually high number of cars going to Neal's layout from my Kings Port Division. These in addition to several more coming from John's New York Central Train Layout seemed like a lot of traffic to suddenly take on so the Kings Port Division is just forwarding six cement hoppers to the APRR for delivery to County Concrete in Morristown, NJ. for now.
Almost all of the cars currently sitting in West Mill Yard will eventually be forwarded to Rock Ridge Yard on Neal's APRR
The six cement cars that make up today's outbound traffic can be seen behind the two PC gons loaded with steel coils .
Watch yard switcher #8951 pull the cement cars out of the yard to set them out for pick up by the next VW-2 from Selkirk to Weehawken.
The cars are poised to be shoved onto a siding for the VW-2.
Watch the switcher place the cement cars and leave before VW-2 arrives in the video below:
VW-2's U33C and GP30 consist uncouples from the train to pick up the cement cars.
Watch the action in the video below:
After acquiring the cement cars VW-2's crew checks connections and air pressure prior to leaving for Weehawken. Watch the train depart West Mill in the video below:
The cement cars are on their way to Weehawken where they will interchange with the APRR to take them to Rock Ridge Yard. After that they will be delivered to County Concrete in Morristown, NJ via the Morristown & Erie Railroad. Lots of railfanning opportunities here!
Follow the action on Neal's blog!

Acknowledge Train VW-2 departing West Mill for Weehawken.
Terminal Yard out...
A very nice single entry showcasing a full West Mill Yard, the pulling out of cement hoppers from Tri Mount Cement by workhorse engine 8951, the adding of cement hoppers to VW-2 and VW-2s departure for Weehawken. Train VW-2 was a very healthy looking train with a nice PC U33C-GP30 lash up for power.
