..And we're back!
We're continuing our 110th Penn Central Car Movement series between John's New York Central Train Layout , Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R. , and my Kings Port Division!
Yesterday, Penn Central transfer WV-2 from Weehawken to Selkirk made an intermediary stop at West Mill to set out a number of cars sent from Neal's Rock Ridge Yard. Today we'll keep following WV-2 as it stops at Kings Port to set out cars for the KP&W's Williams Yard.
The northbound WV-2 drops off the cut on an interchange track in Kings Port for the KP&W to pick up. The cut for Williams Yard ends with EBRR gon #509823 loaded with pipe for the Hudson Valley Co-Op
WV-2 makes the set out. It makes sure to separate the cut on either side of Ulster Ave. to allow for automobile traffic.
WV-2 prepares for clearance to continue to Selkirk. The cut for the KP&W can be seen on the interchange track in the background.
WV-2 receives clearance from the dispatcher in Kings Port to continue on its journey to Selkirk. The two white LV boxcars behind the locomotives are PCCM cars heading to Selkirk for eventual forwarding to other cities. LV #7120 is returning empty to Frontier Yard in Buffalo while LV # 8247 will be forwarded to Flint Michigan.
Lets return to the Penn Central's West Mill Yard which also has a long cut of cars from the APRR sitting on a siding left by WV-2.
We get another good luck at the APRR cut for West Mill when it gets pulled into the yard by a pair of RSD12s. This series has seen a significant increase in traffic between the APRR and KPD!
Lets go back to Kings Port to watch the KP&W pull their share of Neal's cars into Williams Yard yard. A crew comes out to Ulster Ave. to protect the move.
Cars on either side of the avenue will be picked up and taken to Williams Yard. The two KP&W boxcars are going empty to Peerless Appliance while the black HRC car loaded with materials from C&P Restaurant Supply is heading to Battaglia Brothers Warehouse.
The NYC covered hopper full of wheat flour from Cargill is for Blue Ribbon Flour while the three empty Hi Cubes will be set out at Peerless Appliance. PC boxcar #160502 in the rear contains materials to be stored at Battaglia Brothers Warehouse.
Two loads of pipes for the Hudson Valley CO-OP are offloaded at a ramp in Williams Yard.
The TOFCs from Terminal Yard are also off loaded in the yard.
Switcher #24 makes quick work of setting out the HRC boxcar and PC plug door boxcar #106158 at separate loading doors for Battaglia Brother's Warehouse.
Next up at Williams Yard is the dispatch of the Yard Local which will serve nearby Peerless Appliance and Blue Ribbon Flour in Kings Port. The cars have been blocked and are ready for their GP9 power.
The Yard Local leaves Williams Yard.
The two KP&W cars are set out one track away from the loading doors. Peerless Appliance employees will use sector plates to connect the loading dock through the Hi Cubes to load these orange cars. The Hi Cubes are carefully positioned in front of each door.
The Yard Local returns to Williams Yard to grab more cars to deliver on the other side of Kings Port at the Gulf facility and Reynolds Beverage Distributors.

Terminal Yard out...
You're right the PCCM interchange traffic between the APRR and the KPD and KP&W has swelled the WV-2 and it's very nice to see. The KP&W crews did a stellar job quickly moving the PCCM freight cars to their intended consignees. A very enjoyable installment seeing a good amount of PCCM and non PCCM tonnage working its way up the River Line and being interchanged with the KP&W at the Ulster Ave Interchange Track. The new Williams Yard looks great and provided ample switching to take care of the important traffic delivered there. Great Job Ralph!!!
PS....
DeleteAcknowledge PCCM TOFC and Gondolas being off loaded at Williams Yard. The PC tractor was a nice touch!!!
