P.C.C.M. 61: 7th KPD installment: Train dispatched to Mayfield.

Hey everyone...everyone that's still following my long series of posts, that is! Thanks for staying with me as I launch into my 7th installment of this current P.C.C.M.!  Today we'll follow the virtual ops cars that are headed to the KP&W's Mayfield Yard and to nearby consignees.

Here is the tail end of the string going to Mayfield.  P&LE #335892 is loaded with hardware for Peerless Appliance.  NYC #47062 is loaded with alternators and starters for ACME Auto Parts.  The BAR car is full of tea for Cavendish Foods from Neubaums Coffee &Tea.

Three empty cars for ACME Auto Parts.

KP&W cars empty for Peerless Appliance and ACME Auto Parts.

The cut for Mayfield in the background, a KP&W transfer run FROM Mayfield has arrived at West Mill.  A brakeman walks along side as the train slowly backs into the yard with the ATSF flat car in the lead.

More KP&W cars roll by...

...followed by some Lehigh Valley rolling stock reflecting the LV connection with the KP&W at Mayfield.

Here's a railfan surprise!  LV #305 runs in pooled power with the lead KP&W unit!

After the Mayfield Transfer slows to a stop West Mill Yard switcher #8951 moves in on the cut going to Mayfield...

...and pulls it from the yard to a ready track that the LV/KP&W consist can easily access for a run back to their home base at Mayfield Yard.

The Mayfield cut is in position and waiting for pick up.

The colorful pooled power lashup uncouples from the train it brought in to West Mill and moves to hook up with the train it will bring back to Mayfield.

Coupling up to the train...

...and pulling it forward to WM Tower for orders.

West Mill's switcher tacks a KP&W caboose on the back of the Mayfield cut, officially making it KP&W/ LV  Extra #305.

The train leaves West Mill.

The next morning the cars are sorted at Mayfield and dispatched as Extra 897.   BAR #5226 is set out loaded with tea to be included in Cavendish packaged English Cuisine meals.

Three cars going to Peerless Appliance.  The P&LE car brings American Hardware while the KP&W boxes are ready to be loaded with kitchen appliances for Three Amigos Warehouse.

Later at ACME Auto Parts, three empty 60 foot auto parts cars are set out to be loaded for Ford.

Two additional empty KP&W boxcars are set out at ACME.

The spurs at ACME full, NYC #47062, loaded with auto parts, is constructively placed nearby,

That takes care of cars for Mayfield.  Next up is my final installment as cars for the KP&W Mountain Branch and a short local PC run out of West Mill finish the business of this P.C.C.M.  Almost done!

Lucky 7!! Nice job Ralph. A very pleasant surprise seeing LV 305 make it's PCCM debut!!! I really like how the KP&W role has expanded since the inception of the virtual ops. I also like the freight traffic reflecting the LV-KP&W connections.

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

That's a lot of freight coming in and out of Mayfield Yard. The delivery of the KP&W freight cars to Acme and Peerless look good especially with the LV engine in the consist. I must admit the ACME building is very impressive!
