P.C.C.M. 74 Offical Post #4

Hello again!

We're continuing the "inbound" portion of our 74th virtual ops series this weekend as cars from John's New York Central Train Layout  and Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R.  arrive on the Kings Port Division for final delivery to consignees.

Kings Port and West Mill are expecting the arrival of a train from Selkirk with more cars from the N.Y.C.T.L.   In the meantime West Mill's SD9 loads the car float with six coal hoppers from Hudson Coal for the first virtual ops delivery to Port Owen's Power Plant.

The car float will be casting off soon but let's turn our attention to Kings Port where Extra #3003 is now arriving with cars for both Williams Yard and West Mill in the video below. The train is powered by GP40 #3003 and SD35 #6017 still in PRR livery.

Several cars will be set out at the interchange with the Kings Port & Western here.   The train was blocked with cars for the interchange  at the head end. The last car in the cut is this NYC Hi-Cube which is uncoupled from the train.

Watch the cut for the KP&W's Williams Yard get placed on the interchange tracks below.  First the NYC Hi Cube is placed south of Ulster Ave.

The Hi Cube is set aside on the interchange so the Corning covered hopper can be spotted with the two 38 foot hoppers also destined for Corning Glass Co.

You'll see the Corning covered hopper spotted with the two 38 foot coal hoppers in the video below.  The P&E car is set next to the NYC Hi Cube and the gons of scrap and coil cars are separately placed for KP Steel.

The interchange after the set outs.

The Extra's consist prepares to rejoin its train

Watch the GP40/SD35 return to its train and head out of Kings Port in the video below:

An hour later Extra #3003 arrives at West Mill with cars for the KPD.

All cars sent to the KPD from John's and Neal's layouts have now arrived and are ready to be sorted and dispatched to their respective consignees.   The first move was loading the car float with coal hoppers for Port Owen's Power Plant (seen above).  After a half hour river journey the car float has now arrived at Port Owen and is being unloaded by SD9 #6925, sister unit to West Mill's #6922.

Watch the loaded hoppers get set out at the power plant in the video below:

That's plenty of action for today!   Tune in tomorrow for the dispatch of both north and southbound "Turns" from West Mill, and the KP&W's "WiBi" to Binghamton.

It’s just fascinating to see the car float in action and with Port Owen as a consignee, just adds more to your sessions! The car float is one of my favorites!

A hearty welcome to the Port Owen Power Plant making its virtual ops debut!!! I agree with Sir Neal, the car float action was well done and is a new favorite. Videos again first rate with excellent sound. I enjoyed following along with Extra 3003 as it made its set outs and arrived in the busy West Mill. More virtual ops excellence from the K.P.D. Studios!!!
