Hi all!
One more installment of P.C.C.M. 39 on the Kings Port Division as this series has required four trains to deliver cars from Terminal Yard to their consignees.
In the last installment the Kings Port Turn had exchanged cars at Williams Yard and is now heading back to West Mill. Not long after leaving the yard the train stops to drop off the first two cars behind the locomotives at Battaglia Brothers Warehouse.
The cars are cut from the rest of the train...
Both cars are loaded with cabinets from University Millworks.
Backing the cars into the siding that reaches Battaglia Bros. Warehouse.
The locos return to pull the train out of town.
The Kings Port Turn later approaches the GULF oil facility.
A string of GULF tankers and Gulf Mobile & Ohio boxcar #21129 will be picked up by the Turn. The GM&O boxcar is loaded with 55 gallon drums of cutting oil for Walsh Steel Wool.
The train's power is cut and moves ahead of the turnout to GULF.
Pulling the cars...
The pick-ups at GULF completed, the Turn heads home.
Arriving at West Mill
Passing WM Tower and the KarTrak scanner.
Entering West Mill Yard.
The train is tied up and the crew "goes to beans". This concludes the work of the Kings Port Turn and the Kings Port Division's role in P.C.C.M. 39! Its been a lot of railroading fun!
Thanks for coming along! Check Neal's blog for follow up action on the A.P.R.R.!
Nice wrap up to a big ops session. This is the 1st time I have noticed your string of Gulf tanker cars. very nice. I especially enjoyed the photos around the Bail Bond shop. So much detail to take in. Very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Ed
Thanks Ed! I bought those tankers at a train flea market a couple of years ago.

Great wrap up for the K.P.D. and a smooth turn over to the A.P.R.R! Nice work Ralph!!! I wrote down the Bail Bonds phone number just in case... I've always liked that string of Gulf tank cars and it was nice to see them in the action. I'm suffering from transfer caboose envy!
Thanks John!
DeleteAgree with the gentlemen from Georgia. Very well done segment and series with all three roads participating. I'll admit I have the same envy issues with your transfer caboose as John does. My R&D department was taking visual notes of it from the last installment. Nicely done Ralph 😉
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian! I used to see PC transfer cabooses fairly often on the River Line when I was a kid. The always caught my eye.
DeleteCool, I think dedicated Transfer Cabooses must be an East Coast phenomenon or maybe east of the Mississippi phenomenon. I never saw one in the wild out here. Your transfer cabooses look sharp!

Great wrap up for the KP&W! I have to agree with Ed on the Gulf tank cars. That string of them looks neat. Onward to the A.P.R.R.!
Thanks Neal! Your turn! Looking forward to what happens next!
