The Kings Port Division is running an Independence Day Special up the King Port & Western's Mountain Branch for folks who love steam locomotives and the scenery of the Catskill Mountains.
The one car train will be boarded at the abandoned West Mill Station as a way of calling attention to renewed interest in saving the local landmark.
The old water tower has long been in disuse so a Penn Central MOW tank truck fills the tender's tank.
Right now its mostly railroad employees watching the proceedings as boarding time isn't for another two hours but the VW Bug of the Kings Port Railfan Society is here ...early for once!
Lucky residents have tickets to ride while others will watch the train roll past as they set up grills and bar-b-ques. Have a great 4th of July however you celebrate!
