West Mill Yard currently holds several cars that will be forwarded to John's New York Central Train Layout and Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R.
The group of cars includes a new Corning covered hopper (NAHX #90404) seen in the center of the photo above. It was provided courtesy of John R.! The car recently delivered a load of silica to Corning Glass and will be returning to West Hills Silica Sand Mining in Huntington, NY via the L.I.R.R. connection on John's layout.
Meanwhile, over at Williams Yard near Kings Port, a KP&W switcher grabs three TOFCs for the interchange track with the PC...
...and sets them out for pick up.
A KP&W company truck crosses Ulster Ave in front of the cut of TOFCs. The cool vehicle also courtesy of John R.!
The TOFCs are coupled to four Evans Bread Box Trough coil cars that were set out from KP Steel earlier. Two are headed to Ford while the other two are for Gervais Pipe and Fitting on John's layout.
Back at West Mill Yard, switcher #8951 sorts cars into blocks for Terminal Yard.
The Bedford Block has two B&M cars loaded with new bottles from Corning Glass for Heileman Brewery, and a PC boxcar load of cardboard from International Paper for Berk Enterprises.
The Bedford Park Block at West Mill is composed of three 60 foot auto parts cars for Ford.
They will later be accompanied by two of these coil cars for Ford.
The Empire City Block includes EL #73510 loaded with food products and patriotic looking BAR #5226 loaded with packaged meals from Cavendish for Ralph's Grocery Warehouse
TP&W #627 loaded with new drums for Drywell Inks and the old NYC Pacemaker loaded with machine parts for Moore & Co. make up the rest of this block.
Cars to be forwarded to the L.I.R.R. include the Corning covered hopper...
...and three NYC double door boxcars loaded with Zenith console TVs for B.Gertz Warehouse.
Tacked on to the end of the L.I.R.R. block is PC gon #288073 carrying two A.C.C.O.containers for West Chemical.
Typically cars heading to Terminal Yard are picked up by one of the long transfer runs from Weehaken to Selkirk. This time the train will originate at West Mill and stop at Kings Port before reaching Selkirk. Power for this train is a surprising quartet of GP9s/ GP7s.
After coupling to the blocks of cars for the N.Y.C.T.L. the train designated as Extra 7175 gets underway.
The train is seen battling the grade on the high line...
...and passing by Hedberg Aggregates in Marion.
Reaching Kings Port......
...and coming up on the cut of cars set out by the KP&W
Stopping in front of Ulster Ave. and uncoupling the First Generation diesel lashup to pick up the cars.
The rumbling Geeps cross Ulster Ave.
...and take a switch to crossover and grab the cut.
The TOFCs and coil cars are pulled onto the next track...
...and coupled onto the rest of Extra 7175.
Air is pumped up, all connections are checked by the brakeman...
Extra 7175 to Selkirk with cars for the N.Y.C.T.L. leaves Kings Port!
Stay tuned for a short block of cars to be forwarded to Neal's A.P.R.R.!

Terminal Yard out...
Nice work Ralph!!! Great to see first generation Geeps in mainline freight service. Good call on that power combo. Always like seeing the ''gathering'' portions on the KPD. Thanks for the shout outs and product placements! Video was really great. Nice job with the camera work and sounds.

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
Nice start to this P.C.C.M. Ralph! You really have some very colorful freight cars in action this series. I like the Corning car, really stands out.
Rock Ridge Yard and its crew are at the ready for inbound freight from the K.P. & W.
Another well done segment on the K.P.D.!!! Really enjoyed the all Geep lash up. I can hear the chatter and rumble of those non-turbo 567's in my head just looking at your photos. Your new Corning covered hopper is a nice addition to the roster!
