Today cars from Neal's A.P.R.R. arrive on the KPD.
The train left Neal's Rock Ridge Yard as RW-1 (Rock Ridge to Weehawken) with a GP38/ GP38-2 consist shown below.
After a crew change at Weehawken the train continues north as WV-2 to Selkirk, seen below as it reaches West Mill Yard.
The train includes a block of cars for the Kings Port Division that will be set out at West Mill. Among these are two corrugated PC gons with steel stock for ACME Auto Parts.
...an empty E.B.R.R. gon for Amalgamated Container and a KP&W boxcar returning home empty.
The block is completed by these thee PC RBLs loaded with crates from Mike's Lumber for IBM in Binghamton.
The train slows as it passes West Mill Yard.
WV-2 pauses before accessing the yard entrance....
After the KP&W light run is out of the way WV-2 pulls forward to get beyond the yard entrance.
...and shoves the cut for West Mill into the yard.
A West Mill crewman provides a roll-by inspection
Once the cut is set out at West Mill the consist for WV-2 pulls away to couple of with the rest of its train heading to Selkirk.
Rolling backward to join the train.
Our railfan photographer had to change film but had trouble finding another roll right away so he missed capturing WV-2 leaving except for a quick shot of its caboose.
After WV-2 clears the KP&W light run to Mayfield gets underway.
Next up: Delivery of cars to their consignees by PC and KP&W locals.
To: West Mill / Rock Ridge

Way to go Ralph! Nice pick up and set out of Train WV-2 from Rock Ridge via Weehawken to West Mill. The KP&W lite engines were a fun surprise and added some nice color and interest. Well done!
Thanks John! The lite engine runs are an easy way to add interest and to get some locos off the shelf!
DeleteNice and efficient work by the crew of WV-2 to get the West Mill block cut out and back to delivering the rest of the train to Selkirk. The KP&W power hop looks great with it’s combined Cab and hood locomotives. Very enjoyable segment!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The KP&W tends to follow the PC trend of mixed consists.
