P.C.C.M. 80: Part 2 on the KPD

 Hello all!

Cars from Bloomberg, Mayfield, and Binghamton have arrived at West Mill Yard to be sorted into trains for John's New York Central Train Layout and Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R.

Today we'll see more cars coming in as the Kings Port Turn from West Mill gathers the rest that are scheduled to either be dispatched to the N.Y.C.T.L. and the A.P.R.R. or forwarded as "intra-layout moves on the KPD in this virtual ops series.

Among the cars picked up by the "Turn" are two 38 ft. hoppers loaded with aggregate for the New York State DOT Region #10 highway project.

TP&W #627 is heading empty to Canton Box Co., P&LE #35892 is empty for Blue Ribbon Flour, and NYC Hi Cube #173801 is empty for Peerless Appliance.  These three are all intra-layout moves.

Two Gulf tankers full of diesel fuel are pulled for Terminal Yard...

...and from Blue Ribbon Flour: empty NYC #892010 is heading to Empire Grain while LV #41000 will be forwarded to Freihofers with bagged flour.

After completing the pick ups the Turn is seen making an intra-layout move by setting out the P&LE car at Blue Ribbon Flour

The Kings Port Turn returns to West Mill with eight cars in tow.  Watch it arrive at West Mill Yard in the video below:

It isn't long before the Turn is broken up and local moves are made at industries near the yard.  NYC covered hopper #892010 from Blue Ribbon Four is delivered to Empire Grain.

PC #360063 loaded with packaging material for C&P Restaurant Supply is picked up at Canton Box Co. and...

...TP&W #627 is spotted in its place.

PC boxcar #104478 is pulled from GERN with cement flux for Lombo Concrete and brought into the yard

Watch the action in the video below:

Meanwhile over at Kings Port, KP Steel's industrial switcher #2 is seen pulling an oversized load to the interchange.  Its a bridge girder for the New York State DOT Region #10 Highway Project.

The cars will be picked up by the next train heading to Selkirk

The last bit of action to set the stage for trains to be dispatched to the N.Y.C.T.L. and A.P.R.R. is the movement of this 50 ft double door NYC boxcar, loaded with bricks from Port Owen Brick Co.

It takes a ride on the car float with empty hoppers from Port Owen's Edison Power Plant and arrives at West Mill.

After being pulled from the carfloat NYC #40762 is placed in the yard to await being added to a train.

After posting this installment I noticed a continuity error.  High marks to those who spotted it, and higher marks to those who did and were polite enough to ignore it!  :)

Stay tuned for tomorrow when trains are dispatched to John's N.Y.C.T.L. and Neal's A.P.R.R.!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

The APRR will be at the ready to receive the freight from West Mill and the KPD. Still impressed with your car float (I know, I keep saying that, but really, I am!) as well as the new Port Owen Brick Co. Nice photo of the Schaefer Beer & NY Mets billboard. Is that a sign of good thing to come?
