P.C.C.M. 80: Part 4 on the KPD

 Greetings everyone!

We are starting the "inbound" part of our 80th Penn Central Car Movement series in which trains from John's New York Central Train Layout  and Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R.  arrive on my layout in this virtual op.

Last weekend John's Terminal Yard dispatched a hotshot consisting of Auto Racks, car parts, steel, and TOFCs with cars for both the A.P.R.R. and my Kings Port Division.  Here it is pictured about to leave Terminal Yard

It can later be seen below arriving at Kings Port on my layout.

The caboose is cut so the four TOFCs and two steel coil coaches can be left on the Kings Port interchange.

The TOFCs are set out to the left of the Ulster Ave. grade crossing

...and the two coil coaches are placed on the right side.

After the rest of the hotshot reconnects itself and heads on its way to Neal's Rock Ridge Yard, KP Steel's industrial switcher #2 heads out to grab the two coil coaches on the interchange.

The Kings Port & Western's Williams Yard sends out a pair of SW9s to pick up the four TOFCs left on the interchange and bring them into the yard for off loading.

Two days later another train from Terminal Yard arrives at Kings Port.  It can be seen on the left in the photo below leaving Terminal Yard with an F7A at the head end

Watch the train arrive at Kings Port as Extra 1805 in the video below

The two coil cars are cut from the rest of the train to set out on the interchange.

Watch the coil cars get set out on the interchange in the video below

Once again, after coil coaches are set out and their train leaves, the KP switcher goes out to pull them into the steel complex's yard.

That's it for today.  Tomorrow we'll follow Extra #1805 to West Mill.

    Terminal Yard out...

An excellent start to the inbound weekend! I really appreciated the continuity of the trains originating in Terminal Yard and appearing at Kings Port. To modify one of your lines, my layout looks good on your blog!!!😉. KP Steel #2 earned it's keep today and the KP&W SW7s are always a treat to see. I see the GM&O boxcar being loaded at Gulf with 55 gallon drums. Hoping that's for the Terminal Yard engine facility in a future P.C.C.M.!!!

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

Nice to see the TOFC cars in Kings Port. They’re a dying breed in this day and age, although for some of the new dedicated carriers, it’s a nice sight. KP&W #2 is making quite an impression on the railroad. Nice to see it in action
