P.C.C.M. #33H

P.C.C.M. #33H is the latest installment in the 33rd series of virtual ops car movements between the Kings Port Division and the New York Central Train Layout.  Train VWM-4 has arrived at West Mill and been broken up into three blocks; the Kings Port Turn, a short local job for nearby industries, and a transfer for the Kings Port & Western R.R.

This time we'll focus on the dispatch of the Kings Port Turn.

After having sorted cars in the yard, the crew of SD9 #6925 parked their locomotive and went to lunch.   Sister unit #6922 is visible in the background.   What's notable about #6922 is that its in front of the two RSD12s that are being called to power the Kings Port Turn.   They will be moved shortly.

The Yard hostlers climb aboard #6922, fire it up, and move it to the next track....

....clearing the way for the pair of ALCOS.

The twin RSD12s move out to couple up with their train.

The connection made, the crew pumps the air and does all of the routine checks prior to departure.

Heading out, the last of the six cars, an SP double door 50 footer in the string leaving West Mill as The Kings Port Turn, passes by.

The train backs into the caboose track to claim its cabin car.

...and pulls out.

Reaching the yard limits, the Turn waits to take the main because of a red signal indication.  Local industries Canton Box Company and Sal's Salvage are on either side.

The reason for the red is soon apparent as one of the KP&W southbound afternoon RDCs appears.  These commuters run in this direction every half hour in the morning, but only every hour and a half after lunch time.

The RDC passes the Turn and continues past West Mill.

The signal turns green and The Kings Port Turn (A.K.A. WK-2) proceeds.

The NYC covered hopper seen in the pic above along with the PC 50 foot boxcar and TP&W 40 foot boxcar seen below are part of the block from Terminal Yard.
