P.C.C.M. 77: Part 3 on the KPD

Hi there!

Continuing with the outbound portion of our 77th virtual ops series we're at Kings Port watching Penn Central Extra #1805 pull a transfer run from the KP&W's Williams Yard to the Penn Central's West Mill Yard.  The power was borrowed from a PC/B&M train from Dewitt that terminated at Williams Yard.  F7As with a GP9B sandwiched in the middle are a typical consist running between New England and Williams Yard when PC power is utilized.

The train's manifest includes cars that will be forwarded to the A.P.R.R. including these two PC gons for Shapeless Steel...

...and three B&M RBLs for Shop Rite.

Other cars are destined for industries served by the Kings Port Division.

The train arrives at West Mill.

Almost all of the cars scheduled for outbound trains in this series have been gathered.  To finish the job SW9 #8951 runs a short local to pick up New York Central Early Bird boxcar #90718 from the Team Track.  The car will be forwarded to REVCO in Bloomberg.

..and PC depressed well flat #766053 is picked up from Sal's Salvage.  It will be shipped empty to Peerless Appliance.

Both cars are set out in the yard to await assignment to outgoing trains.

West Mill's Yard crew has assembled a cut of cars for the A.P.R.R. including the three B&M RBLs loaded with soup from Habitant Soup for Shop Rite..

...two empty PC gons for Shapeless Steel...
...PC Hi Cube #272747 loaded with refrigeration equipment from Peerless Appliance for Shop Rite, and two KP&W hoppers of coal for RMO Electric...
...and A.P.R.R. RBLs #60358 and 60327 both loaded with canned food from Van Winkle Canning for Shop Rite.

The yard switcher tacks on a caboose for the train which will head to Weehawken where it will interchange the cars with the A.P.R.R.

West Mill assigns a GP9/GP7 consist to the train.

Watch as the power rolls past the cut of cars to get in front of them in the video below:

Once the two Geeps are in front of the train
(now Extra #7058) it backs it out of the yard.   Watch the action in the video below:

After the train leaves the yard we get a good view of one of the famous pink Klemme Coop cars.   While not officially promoting the observance, its pink exterior reminds us that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The Kings Port Division extends continued best wishes to all breast cancer survivors and their loved ones!

After backing out of the yard Extra #7085 is ready to head for Weehawken.

Watch the train leave town in the video below:

That concludes the dispatch of outbound trains to the N.Y.C.T.L. and the A.P.R.R. for this series.   Incoming trains from those two layouts will arrive on the Kings Port Division next weekend.  See you then!
