P.C.C.M. #62: Part 2 on the KPD

Hello!

In my last post cars were forwarded to John's New York Central Train Layout    This time we'll be following cars that are going southbound to Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R.

The four car cut for the A.P.R.R. at West Mill Yard includes red TPFX boxcar #5510 loaded with canned foods from Van Winkle Canning for C&P Restaurant Supply.

At the other end the cut also includes an orange KP&W boxcar (#15638) loaded with Zenith TVs for Three Amigos Warehouse and two PC corrugated gondolas loaded with steel coils from KP Steel for Shapeless Steel.

The gons are seen below being pulled from KP Steel the day before.

West Mill's yard switcher moves the cut of cars for the A.P.R.R. to a siding off the mainline for easy pickup by a transfer run from Selkirk to Weehawken.

A couple of hours later VW-1 from Selkirk arrives at West Mill powered by two large GE U Boats.

The train slows as it passes the cut of cars it will soon be picking up for the run to Weehawken.

The power is cut to perform a back and forth move to pick up the cars destined for the A.P.R.R.

Backing into the A.P.R.R. cut waiting on the siding.

Pulling the cut from the siding.

The four car cut is backed into the rest of VW-1

The train is all coupled up and good to go.  VW-1 gets underway to Weehawken where cars for the A.P.R.R. will continue their journey to Rock Ridge Yard.

Our last view of the A.P.R.R. cut as it leaves town.

That concludes the movement of cars OFF the King Port Division in this series.  Next week it will receive cars FROM the N.Y.C.T.L. and the A.P.R.R.

    Rock Ridge Yard Out!

The A.P.R.R. is at the ready! Having the cars blocked on the train will make it easier for the AP crew to deliver the goods!
