P.C.C.M. 63, Part 2: Outgoing cars for the A.P.R.R.

Hello again!

Cars for John's New York Central Tran Layout were dispatched on a northbound train to Selkirk yesterday. Today a southbound to Weehawken will carry cars for Neal's Atlantic Pacific R.R.

You may remember LV boxcar #8247, loaded with baking trays and racks for Freihoefers, whose routing was described in the previous installment.  This car and...

KP&W boxcars #30115 and 30112, loaded with washing machines from Peerless Appliance for Three Amigos Warehouse...

and ribbed KP&W boxcars #644450 and 644455, loaded with Woodstock Hills Natural Soda for C&P Restaurant Supply...

make up a train for Weehawken with eventual forwarding to Rock Ridge Yard on the A.P.R.R.  Additonal cars like the white tanker  (non-player cars if you will) have been added to this cut for Weehawken.

Power for the train to Weehawken is a pair of RSD12s that see a lot of work in local service from West Mill.  The engineer gives a friendly wave to a buddy on the MOW crew prior to boarding the consist.

West Mill's yard switcher places a transfer caboose at the back end of the train.

The switcher's engineer exchanges pleasantries with the legendary "Fingers" O'Malley, conductor for the Weehawken train.  They're lamenting the less opulent crew amenities in today's transfer hacks compared to the full cabooses of their generation.

O'Malley's spartan office on wheels is coupled to the train.

The RSD12s push the train out of the yard and onto the main by WM Tower.

After getting clearance to proceed, the train (Extra 6865) heads to Weehawken.

See the RSD12s back into the cut, push it out of the yard, and get the go ahead to proceed to Weehawken in the video below!

That's it for the outbounds.  Watch next weekend as cars from the N.Y.C.T.L. and A.P.R.R. arrive for local consignees!

Another nice job Ralph!!! Nice seeing those KP&W boxcars earning revenue! Good to see Fingers O'Malley on his usual transfer run on his usual caboose. PC 6865 and 6869 are some of my favorite PC power lashups. Well Done!!!!

The KP&W is on the move! Nice to see the LV heading south. We'll make sure that Fingers O'Malley gets a box of Freihofers cookies for the ride back home. Great job!

  3. Nice looking run to Weehawken with Fingers O'Malley manning the Transfer Caboose and the RSD12's up front. It makes things easier to have West Mill and Weehawken on the same side of the "Selkirk Hurdle". Maybe the crew can enjoy some of that New Jersey Pizza or some "Grinders".
