P.C.C.M. 72: Part 8 and conclusion on the KPD

Hey there everyone!

This 72nd series of our "virtual ops" has been a busy and action- filled time on my Kings Port Division,  John's  New York Central Train Layout   and Neal's  Atlantic Pacific R.R.

We're wrapping it up on the KPD today with this final installment of the series.

Starting at the Kings Port & Western's Williams Yard, Train WiBi-3 (the "WeeBee") is waiting for its twin F7As to move to the head end so it can depart for Binghamton.   The train includes two LV cars returning to their base yards via interchange at Binghamton and three NYC double door 50 ft. boxcars for IBM.

WiBi-3 receives permission to proceed and is cleared through West Mill to the KP&W connection to Binghamton.

Watch the "WeeBee" leave Kings Port in the video below:

While the WeeBee heads out of Williams Yard, the West Mill crew is preparing the Bloomberg Run.  The usual power for this job is GP20 #2107 and GP30 #2212, now leaving the engine service track

The consist is placing itself at the North end of the yard so a yard switcher can push the run's cars behind it.   The train will then back out of West Mill to be in position to climb to Bloomberg.

The yard hostlers get off the lead unit and take a break...

...to observe the switcher assembling the train.

The virtual ops cars on this train are the Hoschton Railway Co. car loaded with perishables from Ralph's Grocery Warehouse and NH
#36116 with new cans from American Can for Van Winkle Canning

Watch the switcher work on the Bloomberg train in the video below:

The Bloomberg Run is assembled but needs to wait for the mainline to clear.  The dispatcher informs the crew that WiBi-3 is on its way through West Mill.  Once the KP&W train is clear the Bloomberg Run can take the main.    Watch this action in the video below.

After backing out of West Mill Yard the Bloomberg Run (AKA Extra #2212) awaits clearance to proceed.

Watch the train leave for Bloomberg while SW9#8951 makes a two car delivery to the large GERN plant in the video below:

The Bloomberg run leaves West Mill.

About an hour later the train reaches Bloomberg's industrial parks and sets out two cars at Van Winkle Canning.

The next day the three NYC double door boxcars from Bruce Electric that rode the WeeBee are set out by a local train from Binghamton to IBM.

That concludes the KPD's involvement n this 72nd series.  Its been a fun and active one!   Thanks for following along!

What a great wrap up to a superb series! Your Industrial buildings look so great and I always like seeing the freight delivered to them. Nice to see the HSC car getting action.

As I posted on the N.Y.C.T.L. blog and I will post it here as well. I hope our followers enjoy our Penn Central Car Movements as much as we enjoy making them. Please take a moment and post on all three blogs how much you enjoy reading our blogs!

Put it in the books!!!! A great finale to an excellent three layout virtual op!!! With over 100 cars interchanged in a timely and interesting manner this ranks as one the best.

I loved the West Mill Switcher and their soft couplings!!! Always great to see the KP&W F units working and the new power for the Bloomberg Run fits that assignment beautifully. The action was definitely heavy and there were trains literally coming and going all around West Mill. That was a nice touch.

Well done Ralph!!! Thanks for all of your hard work on making this a great series!
