P.C.C.M. 61: 3rd KPD Installment. WV-2 picks up cars at West Mill for Selkirk

Greetings P.C.C.M. followers!

We're continuing the first weekend installments of our 61st "virtual ops" series, sending cars to each others' layouts for model railroad operations.  

In the last post we left West Mill with a long cut of cars waiting to be picked up by a daily Weehawken to Selkirk transfer (WV-2).   Just to the right we can see the tail end of a Kings Port & Western empty coal train about to leave West Mill marked by the blue and orange caboose.

Three hours after the newly assembled train is set on the ready track a red signal indicates the arrival of WV-2 from Weehawken.

Powered by a trio of GP38-2s, the combined 6000 horse power EMDs rumble into town and run along the yard.

"Non-virtual ops cars" make up the train.

The three unit consist slows to a stop near the front end of the cut to pick up for Selkirk and is uncoupled from the train.

Rolling past WM Tower to access the yard entrance...

...and backing into the cut of cars headed by one of the 38 foot hoppers that was unloaded at KP Steel.

After several minutes the tail end of WV-2, now a much longer train, is seen ducking into the GERN Industries underpass.

The train is later seen meeting a KP&W freight from Williams Yard near Kings Port in the video below.
