In this third installment of the current series we're at West Mill Yard where very thoughtful blocking of cars by the Terminal Yard crew set up the Kings Port Turn well in advance! West Mill's crew had very little to do to prepare this train.
These cars arrived in just the right order for expeditious set out at Booms Ready Mix and Reynolds Beverage Distributors! PC #77047 is loaded with pallets from Neal's Lumber while the two B&M RBLs are full of Heilemann Beer. All three are going to Reynolds.
TP&W #627 carries Walsh's steel wool to reinforce Booms Ready Mix while EL #73510 is loaded with burlap bags for the cement company.
The usual pair of RSD12s is selected to deliver the cars. #6865 and 6869 roll out of the engine track...
...pass the yard lead....
...back into West Mill's yard tracks.
Coupling up to the five car train with cars for Booms Ready Mix and Reynolds Beverage Distributors.
Watch the short train leave West Mill in the video below.
The Kings Port Turn arrives to serve Booms and Reynolds. An aging former NYC "Early Bird" car has been unloaded for LaRoche Cycle at the Team Track loading dock and is ready to be picked up and returned to West Mill Yard.
The "Turn" stops nearby and cuts the RSD12s so they can pull the empty Early Bird. Dave's Diner, as always, is a great place to watch trains if you don't mind your coffee cup vibrating on the saucer from the rumble of these Alco units!
Crossing Ulster Ave. to grab the old NYC boxcar.
The car got a door replacement a while ago. Color matching was not a priority at the car shop!
The Early Bird is tacked onto the cars to be set out. The spur to Reynolds and Booms is now clear for the set outs.
Watch the cars get set out in the video below:
Two cars for Booms Ready Mix
Three for Reynolds Beverage Distributors which has managed an agreement to use the Team Track dock for this unusually large delivery.
The work here completed, the RSD12s prepare to back the Early Bird to West Mill but are told to wait for an approaching VW-1 completely composed of empty coal hoppers.
Watch VW-1 pass by the Turn in the video below
After finally getting permission from the Dispatcher to return to West Mill the RSD12s make a couple more moves to bring cars into the yard.
First, the Alcos pull empty CN car #424077 from Canton Box Co. which was loaded with rolled cardboard from Rockmount Supply in Denver , CO.
Next, an easy back up moves facilitates the pick up of a GERN covered hopper and tank car. The covered hopper #5658 is loaded with GERN cement flux for GERN in Colorado.
Rolling into the yard with cars in front and behind the consist.
That completes the Penn Central's work for this series. Tomorrow a KP&W run up their Mountain Branch to Bloomberg will deliver the last of the cars sent from Terminal Yard.
As a footnote, cars that were left for the KP&W to bring into Williams Yard have been moved to their respective unloading areas. The TOFC with the green PC trailer is being tended to. The two empty flats will soon be loaded with trailers.
In the background we see the tail end of the departing B&M train powered by the "borrowed " F7 and GP9, seen earlier in the series.
PC gon #288673 is about to have its pipe load for the Hudson Valley Ag Coop lifted out.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's final installment!

Terminal Yard out...
Another fine installment Ralph!!! The KP Turn with the RSD12s is one of my favorite trains. The horn and rumbling of those engines could scramble an egg at Dave's Diner! Sad to see the B&M engines heading back but enjoyed seeing their sharp looking caboose as it left Williams Yard. The empty coal train was a nice touch. The Terminal Yard crew appreciates the shout out for their car blocking!

Nice work by the N.Y.C.T.L. to make the delivery and movement of freight cars go smoothly at West Mill. Inquiring minds want to know what by chance, are in the extra freight cars? Nice to see the new sign above the Williams Yard building still nice and clean!
