This is the third installment of P.C.C.M. 68 on the Kings Port Division. In my last post Penn Central Extra #6869, headed by an unusual RSD-12/GP9B/RSD-12 consist, has arrived at Kings Port pulling several cars for John's New York Central Train Layout .
There are five cars on the interchange track set out by the KP&W for this train to pick up. They include two Evans bread box trough coil coaches loaded for Ford...
...along with two B&M RBLs loaded with Blue Ribbon bagged flour for Hostess, and a P&LE boxcar filled with boxed cake mixes for Ralph's Grocery Warehouse.
Extra #6869 stops on the bridge and uncouples the power to pull the five cars from the interchange track.
The brakeman throws the switch so the three unit consist can access the interchange.
The two Alcos and the cabless EMD pull into the interchange...
...couple up to the coil coaches...
...and push them toward the three additional cars.
After being coupled up, all five cars are pulled from the interchange.
The cut is pulled just beyond the switch to the mainline...
...which is realigned so the cars can be pushed forward, allowing the locos to run around to their front end later.
A crewman signals a trucker to stop at Ulster Ave.'s crossing while this work is being done.
Now that the cut of five cars is conveniently placed so the power can run around them, the three locomotives make their moves.
Now positioned at the head end, the oddball lashup backs the cut of cars into the rest of the train. The trucker who has been waiting at Ulster Ave. during these moves is thinking that time is money!
The train is now fully coupled up and ready to proceed to Selkirk.
Watch Extra #6869 leave Kings Port with all of the cars for the N.Y.C.T.L. in tow while a pair of KP&W switchers run light to work KP Steel. The truck driver took advantage of the time the train required for an air test to cross Ulster Ave and be on his way!
That concludes the outbound installments of this series from the
Kings Port Division. Check back next weekend as cars from the N.Y.C.T.L. arrive and are set out at their respective consignees.

Rock Ridge Yard Out!
Nice wrap up on the extra train for Terminal Yard. Like the light engine move in the video. I'm surprised the the K.P.R.S. didn't make an appearance at Ulster Ave. for the moves.

Terminal Yard out...
A fine outbound closeout Ralph! The RSD12-GP9B-RSD12 continues to impress. The Pups runby at Ulster Ave was a nice surprise and the audio was perfect. Terminal Yard is standing by to receive the cars from Extra 6869!!
