Greetings and welcome to the second installment of this 98th series!
We're running virtual ops between John's New York Central Train Layout and my own Kings Port Division. Yesterday a number of cars arrived at West Mill Yard on various trains. Today we'll see the last of the cars to be forwarded to John's layout join the crowded yard.
The day starts out with the arrival of the Morning Car Float from Port Owen. The barge is pushed into the apron by the tug Robert H. Its loaded with empty coal hoppers from Port Owen's Con Ed plant.
SD9 #6922 takes on the task of unloading the float. The 6922 has recently been on some road jobs as far away as Empire City to give it an opportunity to run at speed and blow out the carbon!
The SD9 shoves its spacer cars onto the barge deck to pick up the first two hoppers
The gradual unloading process continues until the last two cars are removed.
The hoppers are set out in the yard.
The six hoppers will be forwarded to Hudson Coal on John's layout.
The last train scheduled to drop off virtual ops cars for this series is the KP&W's daily "BiWi-3" (Binghamton to Williams Yard near Kings Port). It will be dropping off two more empty hoppers for Hudson Coal along with six empty cement hoppers for Tri Mount Cement.
Watch the BiWi arrive in the video below powered by twin F7As:
The train is cut behind the six cement hoppers.
The two KP&W F7As pull the cut of cars for West Mill beyond the yard entrance and prepare for the back up move into the yard.
After receiving permission to enter the yard the KP&W units shove the eight cars into West Mill and then return to run pull the rest of the BiWi out of town.
Its now time for the West Mill crew to get to work assembling an outbound to Selkirk that will eventually arrive at Terminal Yard.
That's it for today. Stop by tomorrow for more virtual ops action!

Great intro for part 2 with my favorite scene! Your car float action is always intriguing to me. I saw the string of auto parts cars at the ready, it makes a great scene in the yard!
Excellent work Ralph!
